Ready Coffee started with a simple observation: great coffee and genuine customer service didn't have to be hard to find. In 2016, Jed Bonnem (CEO) — a former hedge fund manager and Pacific Northwest native — set out to bring something different to the Hudson Valley. Not another national chain, and not a precious specialty café. Something in between: locally roasted, hand-crafted, drive-thru convenient, and built around real relationships with the people who show up every morning.
The first location opened in February 2019 on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls. The drive-thru format was intentional from day one — accessible, fast, and built for the way people actually live. Every shot is pulled fresh, every drink made to order. When lines get long, baristas come out to your car. That's not an accident; it's the Ready Coffee standard.
From that single location, Ready Coffee has grown steadily across the Hudson Valley — adding Newburgh, LaGrange, Hyde Park, and Middletown as the brand earned its following. The LaGrange location is the only one with a walk-in interior, and has become a gathering point for the local community. Each new location has been rooted in the same principle: find where people already are, and make their day better.
The Long Island expansion marked a new chapter. Ready Coffee acquired former Dairy Barn properties across Nassau County — completely renovating them while keeping the drive-thru structure that defines the brand. Locations in Baldwin, Glen Cove, Lynbrook, North Baldwin, Freeport, and Hewlett brought Ready Coffee to a new market and a new audience. Eleven locations in total, all running the same small-batch roasting program that started it all.
Throughout that growth — from one window on Route 9 to eleven locations across two regions — two Taylor 428s have been the equipment handling frozen beverages and shakes at every site. When the Long Island expansion took Ready Coffee outside Taylor Upstate's service territory, the handoff to the local Taylor distributor was seamless. That kind of partnership doesn't happen by accident — it's just a normal day at the office when working with the Taylor distributor network.
