A Hudson Valley Destination
Kelly and Steven Cervino opened Kelly's Creamery on Route 22 in Dover Plains in July 2019 with a clear standard: no mass-produced, generic product. From the start, every flavor was handcrafted, premium, and built to stand apart from anything you'd find at a chain. What began as a small parlor quickly became a Dutchess County destination.
Walk in and you'll find 34 flavors of premium handcrafted ice cream alongside designer waffle cones, Italian ices, and a soft serve program that Kelly's has made entirely their own. A standout on the menu is their take on Gelati — a layered creation of soft serve, Italian ice, and soft serve again, built to order and unlike anything else in the area. Vegan and dairy-free options round out a menu built to welcome everyone through the door.
The operation has grown well beyond the original parlor. Steve runs Kelly's Husband's Truck — a food truck that launched over the July 4th weekend in 2020, complete with executive chef Eliza Dowdy running a first-rate gourmet menu. An 18-hole mini golf course on the property turned Kelly's into the kind of stop where a family arrives for ice cream and spends the afternoon.
In 2022, Kelly's added soft serve to the menu and chose the Taylor C722 to run it. The C722 is a twin-twist machine built for variety-forward operations that demand consistent output across a long, busy summer season. It powers the all-natural soft serve and the signature Gelati layers that have become a central part of what makes Kelly's, Kelly's.
